The project follows on from the study of the church and site of Abu Gosh carried out by the same team between 2016 and 2021. A revision of the restoration archives, a new digital survey (tacheometry & photogrammetry), an archaeological study of the elevations and a metrological analysis will form the starting point for a comparative study of the church with that of Abu Gosh, to which it is often compared despite the notable differences in its design and construction. The aim is to provide new keys for reading and analyzing Frankish religious architecture in the Near East, particularly in the 12th century.
