Our strategic and operational monitoring bodies

The Institute Council is made up of the Institute board and the heads of the partner doctoral schools (advisory capacity), as well as the heads of the partner faculties and laboratories (entitled to vote).

It validates the major strategic orientations in terms of research, training and partnerships. It also issues an opinion on budgets, financial statements and activity reports. Where appropriate, it proposes the Director of the institute for appointment.

The Advisory Board is made up of representatives of the main advisory bodies of the partner laboratories:

  • Aix-Marseille Université (AMU)
  • French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS)
  • French national research institute for sustainable development (IRD)
  • French national research institute for agriculture, food and the environment (INRAE)
  • Marseille public university hospital system (AP- HM)

It appoints the institute Director on the recommendation of the Institute Council, approves the roadmap and its updates, issues an opinion and recommendations on the alignment between the roadmap and the budget, and approves investments for year N+1.

The Scientific and Training Advisory Board (STAB) is made up of external experts who represent the institute’s strategies and fields of research. It makes recommendations on the planning and implementation of the institute’s missions, and issues an opinion on the institute’s activity reports.
