The Institute's "Environnement de thèses interdisciplinaires" (Interdisciplinary Thesis Environment) scheme enables me to manage my own budget, which is essential to the development of my doctoral research and the establishment of interdisciplinary scientific collaborations. It enabled me to take part in excavations at the Portel-Ouest Palaeolithic cave (Ariège) and to study osteological material at the Tautavel European Prehistory Centre.

The result of a partnership between the university and the French Ministry of Culture's Department of Underwater Archaeological Research, the Master's degree in Maritime and Coastal Archaeology prepares students for careers in research and the protection of submerged heritage. We train our students in real operations with the professionals who will become their potential recruiters tomorrow.

Thanks to the Institute's "Mobilité vers les terrains méditerranéens" program, I took part in three excavations on the site of the Greek colony of Megara Hyblaea, in Sicily, to build up my corpus of study and prepare my Master's thesis. It was an excellent opportunity to put into practice the theoretical knowledge I had acquired at university.

Thanks to the "Amorce" scheme, the institute has supported the structuring of a program focused on the Tipasa site. Our work, focusing on the geosciences, is now financed by the Fonds de solidarité pour les projets innovants, in partnership with the French Embassy, the Algerian Centre national de recherche en archéologie and the Centre universitaire de Tipaza.
