Working closely with the project's scientific and technical manager, the educational engineer is responsible for the operational coordination and management of ISMed - Images et sociétés en Méditerranée project activities.

Context

The Institute for Mediterranean archaeology (ARKAIA) and the Maison méditerranéenne des sciences de l'homme (MMSH) are jointly running the "Images et sociétés en Méditerranée" (ISMeD) project, which has been awarded the "Training and Research Interdisciplinary Platform" (TRIP) label, to experiment with and train research professionals and students in new forms of writing using filmed images in the human and social sciences. To this end, a MediaLab equipped with image and sound recording and processing tools will be set up at the MMSH. The main activities of the project will be as follows:

  • Designing and delivering short training modules for students and research staff;
  • School projects for research and the socio-economic world: train and support interdisciplinary groups of students in the realization of audiovisual projects imagined and desired by research teams belonging to the Institute and the MMSH, and by their non-academic partners;
  • Promote the platform's productions and skills within the cultural and creative industries ecosystem.

Mission

Working closely with the project's scientific and technical manager, and as a member of the steering committee, the Pedagogical Engineer will be responsible for the operational coordination and management of project activities, in close collaboration with the research teams and partners.

His/her main activities will be as follows:

  • Design and run practical training modules for a variety of audiences (scriptwriting, filming, editing and post-production);
  • Accompany research teams, partners and students, and be a driving force in the drafting of scenarios with a pedagogical, scientific or communication objective;
  • Supervise and produce image and sound recordings in the studio or in the field;
  • Supervise and carry out editing and post-production of audiovisual sequences and productions;
  • Implement and deploy a promotion and distribution strategy for audiovisual productions;
  • Identify and develop partnerships in the cultural and creative industries ecosystem;
  • Manage the platform (equipment maintenance and renewal).
